The Blue Ridge Parkway Association’s membership and Board were warmly welcomed for our Winter Meeting by Visit Hendersonville.
We got a chance to explore the countryside and a favorite destination in Henderson County, Burntshirt Vineyards.
The Cascades Mountain Resort provided overnight accommodations for BRPA meeting attendees, as well as complimentary appetizers for our group and dinner where we met with old friends and made new ones. The resort graciously took care of all our needs the next day for our morning meeting – with not only breakfast beforehand but coffee and snacks available during the meeting.
A unique family-friendly hotel, amenities include a pool with a waterslide and hot tub big enough for the whole family, both conveniently located adjacent to the lobby.
BRPA members in attendance listened in on valuable industry presentations, news from other Blue Ridge Parkway Partner organizations, and updates on upcoming road repairs from the Blue Ridge Parkway – National Park Service.
BRPA member Explore Asheville shared an incredible overview of how they’ve successfully worked with a variety of travelers in group sales to maintain visitation throughout the winter months. BRPA member Appalachian Mural Trail shared their progress in establishing and recognizing murals in towns throughout the Blue Ridge Parkway regions.
We welcome all BRPA members, potential members, and community stakeholders to our meetings. If you’re a member interested in hosting or presenting at an upcoming meeting, please contact us.
BRPA’s next meeting will be held May 2-3, 2018 in Virginia at Peaks of Otter Lodge.
