It features more than 25 local artisans, crafters, and musicians that demonstrate their talents each weekend from May through October. Local authors do book signings and have books for sale all summer long.

The Floyd Center for the Arts is full of excitement for this year’s Gallery Walk, which offers once-a-month opportunities to experience the limitless artistry of Floyd County. Eleven participating galleries and studios scattered around Floyd, VA will be opening their doors for the event. Visit each of these local epicenters of creativity on June 19th, July 17th, August 21, September 18th & October 16th, 2022, 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Food truck cuisine will be available.

All are welcomed to the Floyd Center for the Arts on June 22 at 7:00 pm, as Author and Artist, Suzanne Stryk, gives a talk about her book, "The Middle of Somewhere: An Artist Explores the Nature of Virginia." This event is free & open to the public, and will take place in the Community Hall at the Floyd Center for the Arts. A reception follows the talk. Copies of The Middle of Somewhere will be available for purchase.
For its 13th summer season, Ensemble Stage brings four premieres to Hahn Auditorium at the Historic Banner Elk School. The professional theater company performs a world premiere, an international premiere and two regional premieres.
“Usually places like Chicago, New York, Miami and San Francisco get world premieres,” says Gary Smith, artistic director for Ensemble Stage. “It’s really cool that our 99-seat professional theater in a small mountain town in North Carolina is doing this type of show.”

Moths are the under-appreciated cousin to the much-loved butterfly! Come spend the morning at Explore Park and help us celebrate these beautiful, nocturnal creatures for National Moth Week and give them the appreciation the deserve! We will discover some of the 10,000 species of moths in North America that make Roanoke their home. Participants will enjoy fun facts, science activities, and crafts- all the makings of a great family learning experience. By the end of this program, you'll leave with the knowledge to create your own moth observation area at home, so the fun and learning doesn't have to stop! Children must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is required for all persons in attendance. Please dress for the weather.
